Glen
Oaks High School Auto Tech II Student Profile
My name is Wilman Montgomery, Jr. I am a student at
Glen Oaks High School. I have been involved in different activities
such as, sports (football and weight lifting) and art. However,
there is nothing that has interested me more than the Automotive
Technology Program at Glen Oaks. I have learned so many different
skills that will help me after I finish school. There are many
careers that are associated with the automotive field. There is a
whole new world that is being introduced to me.
I am currently employed at South-West Engine
Exchange. My duties there include completely disassembling engines,
reconditioning parts, and then reassembling the engines. I cannot
make any errors or mistakes, or the engine will not run properly.
You have to pay attention to the little things, because, the little things
can cause huge problems.
The Auto Tech. Program has encouraged me to do the very
best that I can each day to better myself. I am grateful to so many
people. First, I would like to thank Mr. Lyons who is the instructor
of the Auto Tech Program. I also thank the entire Bracket Masters
Racing Team because they have given me, and the rest of the students in
the Auto Tech Program, so much help and support. In addition, I thank
Mr. Heckert and everyone at South-West Engine Exchange. Finally, I
would like to thank my parents and sister for help keeping me
focused. My goal is to someday run my own shop and have workers who
treat customers like I have been taught. I know that I am only 17
years old, but I see myself as a good businessman.
