Michael Battley

HOME
Michael and
his wife Diana joined Bracket Masters Racing Team in November 2006.
The live in Ventress, Louisiana. Mike is a interstate truck driver.
Michael is the owner of three
racecars. He is currently building a 512 CID BBC using a Gen VI block.
It will go into his 1979 Malibu which
will be his primary car. This will be one unique doorslammer.
Mike plans to chop the top 4 inches and he will add 5 inches to the
wheelbase, making it a total of 115 inches. Along with moving the
engine back a few inches, this car should really hook well on the 15 x 33
inch slicks. Mike expects the car to weigh in at around 2300 lbs, with
fiberglass front cap, doors, trunk and Lexan windows. I won't disclose all the tricks that are going into the
engine, but lets say that Mike should run down into the 8 second range.
The engine is being built by Steve Benoit of Rocket Engine Service in Scott,
LA. They plan to use a Powerglide with Ultra-Bell. The car has
been delayed due to the several factors beyond Michaels control.
Mike is very excited about the car and has spared no expense to make this a
very fast and safe car.

the T-shirt trailer and tent and lots of other little things that just had
to be done. Mike worked very hard before and after the race.
