Car Photo by S&H Creations          James (Left) with Trophy

James has been working with members of the team for several years and is an Honorary Member of Bracket Masters Racing team.  James brings many talents to the team.  He is a mechanic, specifically a carburetor man, and James has extensive computer skills.  James is a very hard worker and a family man.  James works for the State of Louisiana, Dept. of Revenue.

James drives a Chevelle in the very competitive Comp. Street Class.  The photo above right, was taken October 15, 2000,  when James won the Red Stick Street Legal Nationals at State Capitol Dragway.  He won a trophy during the 2001 season while driving for Willie Beathley.

4/5/02 - James won the 2nd Place Trophy in Comp. Street Class at State Capitol Dragway Friday night.  James ran a 12.19 on a 12.25 dial-in during the final, a little too quick!  Recently James had some motor problems which resulted in a complete rebuild.  This is the first real test of the new motor and we expect there will be some 1st place trophies soon.

4/11/03 - James ran Terry, the "Wagon Master" at SCD Friday night
and beat him for a 1st place win in Comp Street.  James' Chevelle ran a 12.16 on a 12.20 Dial-in, but Terry broke out also, we think he ran something like a 14.80 on a 14.89 Dial-in.  Congratulations James!

5/9/03 - James won runner-up in Comp Street at State Capitol Dragway.   He broke out with a 12.13 run on a 12.20 dial-in.  Another trophy for the trophy case.  This is getting to be a regular occurrence!

8/1/03 - James won first place in Comp Street at SCD Friday night. James ran a 12.14 at 111 mph on a 12.05 dial-in, with a .540 light.  He caught the guy before the finish line and let up so he would not break out.  Congratulations James!

8/15/03 - James Won Again!  That's twice this month!  Congratulations to James for winning first place in Comp Street at SCD last Friday night.  His reaction time was a .595 and I ran a 12.05 at 112 mph  on a 12.05 dial-in.  Keep up the good driving James.

3/19/04 - James was out at State Capitol Dragway testing tonight.

4/23/04 - James ran at SCD and won in the street class again.  James' car is a true street car.  He drives the car to the track every Friday night.  This is the only time James get to play with the car, he works and spends time with his family on the other days.

Tonight James had to run three cars on the way to the trophy.  On the final run, he ran down his opponent before he got to the 1/8 mile mark.  He just stayed in front of him until the finish line.  James ran a 12.62 on a 12.10 dial-in.  His opponent ran a 17.37 on a 17.04 dial-in.  Again we say, Congratulations James!

James heads into the 2005 racing season with a fresh engine, complete with new springs.  The old springs were for drag racing only.  James drives his car to the track and around town.  The exhaust valves could not take the extra duty of street use.  James is looking forward to a good racing season with lots of trips to the winners circle.

Feb. 23, 2007 - The last update on James was in 2004, but he has been racing and progressing for the past three years.  He is still winning in the Comp. Street Class, which he won Friday night.  His times were 11.77 on a 11.70 dial-in @ 115 MPH. for the win.  James recently installed some new M/T radial racing tires on his car.  James says they really hook!  Congratulations to James on his win.

March 5, 2007 - James responded to the above post with this information:

After looking at the BMRT website and realizing that I haven't given you the info on my  wins in 2006. Here are the ones that I can remember, if you would like to post them.

On Friday June 9th, 2006 I beat a 1969 Camaro in the Comp Street class at SCR. We both had 11.95 dial-ins and I ran a 11.954 @ 112 mph and he ran 11.958. I won a Plaque instead of a 1st place trophy for Comp Street that night.

I think I won twice in the month of June. I will have to check my log book to make sure and get you the details on that win. I think I may have one a couple of runner ups earlier in 2006 also. I guess I need to bring my log book to work with me.

I won 1st place again last Friday night at SCR in Comp Street. The car ran 11.68 on a 11.65 dial-in @ 114 mph. I think my reaction time was .042.

March 30, 2007 - Just wanted to let you know that I won 1st place in Comp Street at SCR
last Friday night. I ran a Burgundy 1968 Camaro. The camaro ran 11.74 at
113 mph on a 11.77 dial-in, but he went red at the start. It then became
a grudge match to see who had the faster car.

I cut an .020 light and ran the car all out with an 11.68 at 114 mph on
an 11.80 dial-in.

June 17, 2007 - James won 2nd place in Street Class at the Fathers Day Race at State Capitol Raceway.  In the final round, James caught his opponent and let up, but just missed winning by .001 second on a double breakout.
